Nobody ever told me or showed me a picture, but I've been doing it pretty close to this way for years. I get it right by driving at the speed limit for a few minutes in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway, letting cars pass me on both sides and making slight adjustments. (Hooray for power mirrors!) First I adjust so that the front headlight of a car just appears in the side view mirror while the rear quarter is still visible in the rear view mirror. In many newer cars with wide rear view mirrors, there is no blind spot when you've set it this way. But I always check against my peripheral vision and make sure that the car is still visible in the side view mirror up to and just past the point where I can see it.

Amy, with all due respect you're single and they're talking about household income -- before taxes (federal, state, and local).

Think about a family of four, with health care for four. Think about a family that starts off paying off two college loans for the parents, and then taking on the "expected parental contribution" for a college education for two children. Think about two cars, so even if you keep your cars for ten years there's still a new one every five years, or maybe a slightly used one, so there's almost always one car loan being paid -- and almost always one car that is in the later more-expensive-to-repair stage of its life.

Think about handling those types of expenses, being able to afford a resort vacation every now and then, and still being able to build a positive net worth and save for retirement. And then think about a truly defining perq for people who are upper clases: a prep school education... for two. That's what upper class means, and being in the top 16% doesn't get many families there.

Perhaps if a couple get into the top 16% very young, save and invest wisely, and build a substantial positive net worth before taking on family expenses, and continue to be in that top 16% continuously -- with no interruptions for extended unemployment (for either wage earner) then maybe they could live an upper class lifestyle on that income. Maybe. But most families don't get into that top 16% early enough. They start at entry-level and slowly build up to higher income, and many of them take a hit on income when the kids come along, lasting several years. (Or they take on day care expenses, which may not exactly rival prep school, but you might be surprised by how expensive it can be!) So by the time most families really get to the top 16%, they're upper middle class and that's probably where they're going to stay.

Term limits for sure and end the Career politicians that go from one political job to another. They should have real world jobs and go back to them when they're done 'serving'. That's how it was when the country was founded and it worked then. There's no need for a full time legislature at the State level so let's cut them down to part time too.

While we're at it, cut their benefits too. They shouldn't get stuff 'for life' because they got elected once, twice or even 20 times.

I grew up in a suburb of Chicago during the corrupt "Daley" years. I learned to hate politics when I heard my dad talking about how his own party, defaced their own sign so the paper would report it as the other party. Disgusting.

I personally resent an ad asking for faithful women. I personally have never cheated in a relationship status. Just for general knowledge there are many ways to cheat, anything a person would have to lie about is a form of cheating. Some days I wish to just be hit as those bruses heal and go away, the lies lay inside and continue to hurt for a long time. If faithfulness is what you seek start with the truth and except nothing less from anyone you chose to have in your life. Lies are like potatoe chips one is never the last. If you have trust and common curitisy, faith just falls into place, as a host of other good things. It's not rocket science, but people sure do have a sough time getting it right.
