If you go to this site, it allows you to select your location & it will show you exactly where the other side of the world is from where you are. (Click on the picture below to embiggen).
As I suspected from the amount of time it took to get there, the other side of the world from Seattle is “near” South Africa. Actually, it’s almost exactly halfway between South Africa and Antarctica (another place on my “to do list”).
So much for the whole “dig your way to China” deal my parents told me about. Another parental lie exposed…
