This American Life

This American Life is this grrrr-eat radio show on NPR done by a guy named Ira Glass. Basically, he picks a subject and then interviews people - they end up telling their story. It's little vignettes and they're always sorta quirky and interesting. You can now download them as free podcasts. I always grab them to listen to when I'm traveling. I get bored listening to music all the time and this actually distracts me more because I'm involved in the stories.

Anyways, if you have Showtime, they're going to be doing the tv version of This American Life and all the previews look and sound really good. Click below o see the (excellent) trailer and set your TiVo to record...

I am a HUGE fan of TAL/NPR, have been for 10 years.

But I am just not a big tv watcher, I don't want to arrange my life around a tv schedule (and I don't have Tivo).

However, I would actually put TAL/Showtime on my calendar, just so I could watch Ira talk and get all "WOW, he really doesn't look like his voice on the radio...." about it.

Did you know that Ira Glass and Phillip Glass are cousins? It's true.
